POSITION SUMMARY

Amphenol expects to be an industry leader in sales and profits for our space. This position is responsible for working as the liaison between sales, product, and leadership. The role is designed to manage sales strategies by market and customer. They must understand the sales pipeline and create sales forecasts based on the inputs provided. Responsible for working with the outside sales team and channel partners to grow new business. They will attend tradeshows and events to understand market opportunities and how we approach them with our sales strategy. Expected to be mentored and groomed for leadership. They must be respectful, trustworthy, and live up to the core values. Success in this role will be measured by sales activity, revenue, profit, and company strategy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Director of Sales to create and hold accountable to Sales Key Performance Indicators.
  • Oversee Strategic Account Sales and identify gaps that need to be filled.
  • Support and Mentor the Sales team on Sales Calls.
  • Report Activities to Director of Sales.
  • Create Value-propositions and focus on solution selling with alignment to the corporate vision.
  • Ensure fiscal responsibility and good stewardship by following the sales budget. Demonstrate and encourage a cooperative and congenial working relationship between others, both within and outside the company.
  • Identify new opportunities for Amphenol and document market trends for company product roadmaps.
  • Work with the Product Management team to develop and respond to products that resonate in the marketplace.
  • Create and support a Strategic Sales Playbook for Strategic Accounts Must support sales team for technical sales support.
  • Work to identify new market opportunities.
  • Utilize the CRM tool to manage sales activity and expectations.

DESIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, business, economics or related field, and/or equivalent experience.
  • Five years’ successful sales experience preferred
  • Sales experience in enterprise data centers or telecommunications market is preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent relational sales and presentation skills.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Amphenol currently uses Mac computers that can run either MacOS or Windows. Microsoft Office is still the standard, but technology moves fast and thus a willingness to learn and try is important. Proficiency in a CRM is required. Need to be proficient in Microsoft Excel and able to analyze data through a data distribution medium.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This employee must be able to move 60 pounds, and must be able to sit, stand, type and be on the phone for extended periods of time. Ability to transport themselves to and from client locations.

MENTAL DEMANDS

Ability to concentrate and focus on detailed information for long periods. Ability to self-educate to research and resolve technical issues. Emotional intelligence to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with co-workers, internal and external customers. Requires repetitive reviewing of numbers and other information. Ability to manage high stress business situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires you to spend time in a corporate office environment. Travel is required for this position, both domestically and internationally as needed. Extensive travel is required. In alignment with our current Travel Policy, it is a requirement that the employee receives the COVID-19 vaccination (completes the one or two shots required and waits the requisite period afterwards). Timeliness and office presence is required.
